Catherine Ann Manning, professionally known as Katy Manning, is a talented British actress born on October 14, 1946. Throughout her illustrious career, she has made numerous appearances on both the big and small screens, as well as the stage. However, she is most famously recognized for her iconic role as Jo Grant, the companion to the renowned Doctor, in the British Broadcasting Corporation's (BBC) science fiction television series Doctor Who. Manning initially portrayed the character regularly from 1971 to 1973, but her iconic role did not end there. She reprised her role as Jo Grant in the Doctor Who spin-off series The Sarah Jane Adventures in 2010 and once again in Power Of The Doctor in 2022.
In addition to her work on Doctor Who, Manning is also notable for lending her voice to the character Iris Wildthyme in the audio series Iris Wildthyme for Big Finish Productions since 2005.
