Kate Levering, an American actress and dancer, was born on January 1, 1979, in Sacramento, California. She attended El Camino Fundamental High School, where she was actively involved in school musicals and dance classes. Levering graduated in 1997 and subsequently relocated to New York City to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, specifically on Broadway.
In 2001, she was cast as Peggy Sawyer in the revival of the iconic musical 42nd Street. Her outstanding performance earned her a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical and the prestigious Fred Astaire Award for Best Female Dancer, which recognized her exceptional tap dancing skills. Although she only performed the role for a short three-month period, she is featured on the cast album and left a lasting impression on the audience.
Following her successful stint in 42nd Street, Levering went on to star in the Broadway production of Thou Shalt Not, a musical composed by Harry Connick, Jr., and choreographed by Susan Stroman. Unfortunately, the show was met with a disappointing response and is often referred to as a catastrophic flop. Despite this, Levering's talent and dedication to her craft continue to be celebrated and recognized.
