Kajsa Anna-Karin Linnéa Ernst, a renowned Swedish actress, was born on August 4, 1962. Her journey in the world of acting began at the tender age of sixteen when she joined Nöjesteatern in Malmö, Sweden. She further honed her craft at Teaterhögskolan in Malmö, where she studied the art of acting.
Following her graduation, Ernst spent ten years working at Helsingborgs stadsteater, where she had the opportunity to perform in a wide range of plays. Some of her notable roles during this period include Byggmästare Solness, Spindelkvinnans kyss, and Knäckebröd och hovmästarsås.
In addition to her work on stage, Ernst also had the chance to showcase her skills in ballet. In 1982, she danced in several plays under the direction of Nils Poppe at Fredriksdalsteatern. Ten years later, in 1990, she took on a role in the play Två man och en änka at the same theatre. Her performance in this play would later be adapted into a film in 2013.
In 1998, Ernst made the decision to relocate to Stockholm, where she would go on to make her film debut in Kjell Sundvalls In Bed with Santa in 1999. She continued to work in film throughout the 2000s, appearing in projects such as Miffo in 2003 and Masjävlar in 2004, for which she won a Guldbagge award. Ernst also had a role in the film Järnets änglar.
Throughout her career, Ernst has been married to actor and director Göran Stangertz, whom she wed in 2009. Tragically, Stangertz passed away in 2012, leaving Ernst to carry on without her beloved partner.
