Justin Pierre James Trudeau, born on December 25, 1971, is a prominent Canadian politician who has been serving as the 23rd and current Prime Minister of Canada since November 2015. Moreover, he has been the leader of the Liberal Party since April 2013. Notably, he is the second-youngest Prime Minister in Canadian history, following Joe Clark, and also the first to be the child or relative of a previous holder of the post, being the eldest son of Pierre Trudeau.
Born in Ottawa, Canada, Trudeau attended Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf and later graduated from McGill University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in literature. He then pursued further education at the University of British Columbia, acquiring a Bachelor of Education degree in 1998. Following his graduation, Trudeau taught French, humanities, math, and drama at the secondary school level in Vancouver.
In 2002, he relocated to Montreal to focus on his studies and advocacy work related to youth and environmental issues. He served as the chair of the youth charity Katimavik and as the director of the not-for-profit Canadian Avalanche Association. Trudeau's dedication to these causes led to his appointment as the chair of the Liberal Party's Task Force on Youth Renewal in 2006.
