Biography

Julio Solórzano Foppa is a multifaceted creative force, hailing from Mexico City, with a professional trajectory deeply rooted in the organization and production of international cultural and artistic events.

Throughout his career, Solórzano has had the privilege of spearheading numerous Performing Arts Festivals, including the esteemed "International Festival of the Caribbean Culture" and "Human Rights for the Artistic and Cultural Perspective."

As a producer, he has been instrumental in the creation of several records, while his work as a writer and director has yielded a plethora of radio programs. Furthermore, Solórzano has also ventured into filmmaking, having produced two feature films, "Cabeza de Vaca" and "Cronos."

In 2000, he made history by becoming the first Latin American to be appointed as a board member of the International Society for the Performing Arts.

Solórzano's personal life is marked by a sense of resilience and courage, as his mother, Alaíde Foppa, a renowned feminist, poet, art critic, and university professor, was tragically kidnapped and disappeared on December 19, 1980, at the hands of the Guatemalan Army.
