Jonathan David Reep was born on March 26, 1972, and is a talented American comedian and actor. His journey in comedy began while attending North Carolina State University, where he started performing stand-up comedy at Goodnights comedy club. He graduated from NCSU in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater, Mass Communication, and Public & Personal communication.
After graduating, Reep worked at UNC-TV, serving as the assistant director for TV shows such as "North Carolina Now" and "Legislative Week in Review". During his time at UNC-TV, he continued to hone his stand-up comedy skills, performing at night. In 1998, he left UNC-TV to pursue comedy full-time.
Reep's comedy career took off as he traveled across the country, performing in comedy clubs and colleges in every state. In 2000, he was invited to perform at the prestigious Montreal Just for Laughs festival, which led to him moving to Los Angeles, California, to further his career as a stand-up comedian and actor.
As an actor, Reep has appeared in various roles, including the character of Raymus, a pot-smoking farmer, in the movie Harold and Kumar: Escape from Guantanamo Bay. He has also played the role of Gerald Bob, a dim-witted cop, on the ABC sitcom Rodney, and a goodwill worker on the Disney Channel's Good Luck Charlie. Additionally, he has been the HEMI guy in Dodge Truck's popular ad campaigns.
Reep's achievements in comedy are numerous. He was the winner of NBC's Last Comic Standing, season 5, and has appeared on various comedy shows, including Comedy Central's Premium Blend, Comedy Central Presents: Jon Reep, Jon Reep: Metro Jethro, and Jon Reep: Ginger Beard Man. He has also been featured on TBS's Pit Stop Comedy, NBC's Late Friday, and CMT's Comedy Club, as well as Comedy Stage.
