Johnny Whitworth is an American actor born on October 31, 1975, in Charleston, South Carolina. His early years were spent with his mother in his birthplace, before he moved to Dallas, Texas with his father after his parents' divorce.
At the age of 15 or 16 in 1991, Whitworth won the 1st Young and Modern Man Contest, which led him to move to Los Angeles with his mother. He began his acting career at the age of 18 with a guest appearance on the TV show Party of Five in 1994. His film debut was in Bye Bye Love in 1995, followed by a role in the cult classic Empire Records.
Whitworth initially quit acting after his first few movies, but made a comeback in 1997 with a role in The Rainmaker. He has since appeared in a number of films and TV shows, including the CBS crime drama CSI: Miami, where he plays the recurring role of Detective Jake Berkeley.
In addition to his work on CSI: Miami, Whitworth has appeared in films such as 3:10 to Yuma, Gamer, Locked in, Valley of the Sun, and Limitless. He is set to play the villain Blackout in the 2012 sequel and reboot Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
