John Raymond Barker is a highly accomplished actor and artist, holding a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Houston School of Theatre. His training under renowned professionals such as Stuart Ostrow, Edward Albee, Jerry Bock, and Jerry Sterner has equipped him with a strong foundation in new plays and musicals.
As a represented artist of ATB Talent and a proud member of Actors' Equity Association, John has showcased his talents on New York stages, taking on leading roles in productions like Avarice & Dumped, Truman Capote in Don't Go Gently, and Lee Feldman's Greene. He has also co-written and performed in the devised work Gold Coast with Stages on the Sound for Metropolitan Playhouse's Gilded Stage Festival under the guidance of Scott Barrow from Tectonic Theater Project.
John's regional theatre credits are impressive, including performances at Theatre Under The Stars, 5th Avenue Theatre, Alley Theatre, and Stages Repertory Theatre. He has had the opportunity to play iconic characters such as Christopher Dudgeon in The Devil's Disciple, A Flea In Her Ear, and Shakespeare's R&J.
In addition to his stage work, John has made his network television debut with a guest appearance on Law & Order: SVU. He has also appeared on HuffPost Live (recurring) and A Crime to Remember, and has contributed to various recordings, including Show Choir! The Musical Studio Recording, Avarice the Musical Cast Recording, Carols for a Cure Volume 12 with Bernadette Peters and the cast of A Little Night Music, "Vampire Drag Queen", and Our First Christmas Together.
