Joe Anderson's journey began in East Lansing, Michigan, where he later pursued his passion for the performing arts at Western Michigan University's prestigious theatre program.
As a multi-talented individual, Anderson has achieved great success as an award-winning director, writer, and comedian. He spent two years honing his skills as a member of the renowned Second City improv comedy theater, touring extensively across the country.
In addition to his impressive work with Second City, Anderson co-founded the critically acclaimed sketch comedy group "The Don't We Boys!", which earned widespread recognition for its innovative and side-splitting performances.
Anderson's creative genius extends to the world of playwriting, as evidenced by his critically acclaimed play "Shoot Faster, Dear Brother, I'm Dying!", which has been praised by esteemed reviewers for its clever parody and pitch-perfect humor, likened to the great Mark Twain.
In 2013, Anderson co-wrote and co-starred in the paranormal comedy "America's Most Haunted", which received widespread distribution through Echo Bridge Entertainment. The film has been hailed as a masterclass in blending scares and laughs, surpassing even the iconic "Ghostbusters" and "Poltergeist" in terms of its unique blend of terror and hilarity.
Anderson's versatility as a filmmaker is exemplified by his work on the 2014 drama "Pilot Error", a gripping true-story-based film that tells the tale of a doomed plane journey to France.
When not working on film projects, Anderson is based in Michigan, where he collaborates with a diverse range of film and commercial production companies on commercials, TV, and film endeavors. He is also an active board member of the Dog Story Theater, a non-profit organization that produces improv and sketch comedy shows, and has played a key role in producing nearly 100 shows to date.
