Jenna Barlow Grodsky, a renowned writer, director, and television show creator, is the owner of New Sky Park Entertainment, Rebel Girl Films & Night Sun Post. She has produced, developed, and edited content for various networks, including CBS, NBC Sports, A&E, Nat Geo Wild, Tru TV, VH-1, MTV, and Fox Reality.
Born in San Francisco, Grodsky's early life was marked by a passion for dance and theater. By the age of eleven, she had already toured internationally with the San Francisco Ballet, guest-starred with the Bolshoi Ballet, and appeared in her first professional play, Carousel, at the Hyatt Theater in Oakland, California.
Grodsky's transition to Hollywood marked the beginning of her acting career, primarily focused on sitcoms and comedy. However, she earned critical acclaim for her dramatic performance in Garth Brooks' award-winning music video, The Thunder Rolls.
As a writer, Grodsky made her debut with "My Father's Vodka," an interactive multimedia comedy loosely based on her own experiences as a bar dancer. The production was presented at the world-famous Roxy Theater on Sunset Boulevard by movie and music mogul Lou Adler, known for his work on the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Grodsky also wrote and performed sketch comedy with The Third Floor, Los Angeles, and created Phat Chix, an all-girl sketch comedy show backed by Ed Weinberger, creator of the hit TV show Taxi. The show was performed at the HBO Showcase Theater.
Teaming up with another William Morris client, Barlow Boccaccio Productions was formed, and the partners went on to create and launch three successful television shows within two years: Stringers, Sex Decoys, and Operation Grizzly.
Throughout her career, Grodsky has worked both in front of and behind the camera, accumulating thousands of hours of editing experience. She recently wrapped post-production on the upcoming film "Empire Queen," which she produced and edited.
Notably, Grodsky holds the distinction of being the first female to pilot the Enterprise on a Star Trek television series. Having survived the loss of her late husband, Lee Grodsky, she is also known and often credited as Jennifer Barlow.
