Born in Greenville, South Carolina, Jaimie Alexander relocated to Grapevine, Texas at the tender age of four, where she grew up as the only girl in a family of five siblings. Her introduction to acting began in grade school, where she took theater classes for fun, developing a passion that would shape her future. However, her high school theater experience was short-lived, as she was actually kicked out due to her inability to sing. She then turned her focus to sports, only to discover her true calling at the age of 17, when she substituted for a friend at a meeting with a scouting agency and met her manager, Randy James. James sent her several scripts, and soon after, Alexander made the bold decision to move to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career after graduating from Colleyville Heritage High School.
