Ivo Uukkivi was born on October 11, 1965, in Tallinn, Estonia. He is a renowned Estonian stage, film, radio, and television actor, television producer, and musician. Under the nickname Munk, he is also the founder and singer of the punk band Velikije Luki.
Uukkivi's educational background includes graduating from Tallinn 2nd Secondary School in 1980, Tallinn Polytechnic School in 1984, and the Tallinn Conservatory's Performing Arts Department in 1992. His diploma production roles include Snug in William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and Man in Purple in Mati Unt's Emperor Nero's Private Life.
He has appeared in numerous feature-length films, including Hysteria, Tallinn pimeduses, Jüri Rumm, Kallis härra Q, Somnambuul, Täna öösel me ei maga, Sügisball, Kuhu põgenevad hinged, Tali-Ihantala 1944, Vasaku jala reede, 1944, Polaarpoiss, Luuraja ja Luuletaja, Õnn tuleb magades, and Kratt.
