Ingrid, a visionary filmmaker, was born in Bratislava but raised in Canada, where she nurtured her passion for cinematic storytelling. In 2003, she co-founded pUNK Films, a production company driven by a bold manifesto: "nothing is impossible". Since 2008, Ingrid has written and directed five feature-length films, each premiering at esteemed international festivals, including the Toronto International Film Festival, Rotterdam Film Festival, Slamdance, Whistler Film Festival, Rome Film Festival, OUTFest, FEMCine, and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Her films have garnered numerous awards and worldwide distribution.
In 2014, Ingrid launched the pUNK Films FEMMES LAB, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at fostering feature films written and directed by Canadian women. This pioneering project was made possible through the support of Academy Award-winning actress Melissa Leo.
In addition to her work as a filmmaker, Ingrid is a dedicated educator. She is a part-time member of the Film Studies Faculty at York University and holds the position of Screenwriter-in-Residence at the University of Toronto. Furthermore, she serves as a Film Mentor at the prestigious Canadian Film Centre.
In recent years, Ingrid has completed her sixth feature film, PORCUPINE LAKE, a project produced in collaboration with Telefilm Canada and the Harold Greenberg Fund. The film has been distributed in Canada by FILMS WE LIKE and is being sold worldwide by OUTPLAY FILMS.
