Born on December 17, 1950, Hsu Feng is a renowned Taiwanese-born actress and film producer who has made a significant impact on the cinematic world. Her illustrious career in the 1970s catapulted her to the forefront of Hong Kong and Taiwanese cinema, with her versatility and range being particularly noteworthy in the realm of wuxia films. Her collaborations with the acclaimed director King Hu were highly regarded and continue to be celebrated to this day.
After a brief hiatus from the acting world, Hsu Feng returned to the film industry in the latter half of the 1980s, this time as a producer. Her producing credits include several award-winning films, with one of the most notable being Chen Kaige's "Farewell My Concubine". This masterpiece won the prestigious Palme d'Or at the 1993 Cannes Film Festival and also took home the BAFTA Award for Best Film not in the English Language in 1994.
