Hawk Koch is a seasoned film producer, having held the esteemed position of President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Producers Guild of America.
During his tenure at the Academy, Koch championed the cause of diversity, initiated the first-ever general membership meeting, and prioritized member engagement. Under his leadership, the Academy greenlit the construction of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, introduced digital voting, established separate branches for Casting Directors and Costume Designers, and granted the Oscar award to Animation Producers in conjunction with the winning Animation Director.
At the Producers Guild, Koch, alongside his co-President Mark Gordon, successfully secured the p.g.a. mark at all major and independent studios, thereby restoring the value of the producer credit to all working producers.
Throughout his illustrious career, Koch has been intimately involved in the production of over 65 notable films, including the iconic Chinatown, Wayne's World, Heaven Can Wait, The Way We Were, Marathon Man, Primal Fear, Source Code, Peggy Sue Got Married, and Rosemary's Baby.
Koch has had the privilege of collaborating with some of the most renowned filmmakers in the industry, including Sydney Pollack, Alan Pakula, Warren Beatty, Francis Coppola, John Schlesinger, and Roman Polanski.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Koch serves on the boards of the Motion Picture and Television Fund, AMC Theaters, and Cast and Crew.
