Gunnel Lindblom, a renowned Swedish film actress and director, was born Gunnel Märtha Ingegärd Lindblom on December 18, 1931, in Sweden. She was particularly associated with the work of Ingmar Bergman, and her acting career spanned many decades.
Gunnel Lindblom was a talented actress who appeared in various roles throughout her career. She played the lead role in Miss Julie for BBC Television in 1965 and also played the key-role of The Mummy in Bergman's staging of Strindberg's The Ghost Sonata in 1998-2000. This performance earned her much critical acclaim.
In her personal life, Gunnel Lindblom was married to Sture Helander, a senior lecturer and Ingmar Bergman's personal physician. She was sometimes credited as Gunnel Lindblom Helander or Gunnel Helander.
