Giuseppe Schillaci was born in Catania, Sicily, where he initially began his acting career under the guidance of Manuela Metri and Fioretta Mari. In Italy, he appeared in numerous plays, with one of his most notable roles being in "La Scapricciata" alongside Fioretta Mari and directed by Manuela Metri.
Schillaci also had the opportunity to star in several Italian television series, including "Il Commissario Montalbano" directed by Alberto Sironi, where he played Rosario Lauricella, and "Squadra Antimafia", in which he portrayed Remo Pennino in two episodes.
In 2010, Anna Strasberg selected him to attend a seminar in Rome, where he was awarded a scholarship to study at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York and West Hollywood. He resided in the United States for eight years, during which time he continued to hone his craft.
In 2013, Schillaci made his debut in Los Angeles, starring as Tom Collins in the musical "RENT" directed by Troy Rintala. He also appeared as MR. Jacob Engstrand in the play "Ghosts" directed by Neno Pervan.
Additionally, he starred as the main character "Luigi" in the short film "The Dilemma" directed by Luca Spensieri, and played the role of "The Man with the pink scarf" in the Kia Commercial directed by Alejandro Trevino. He also appeared as Rafael in the short film "Widows" directed by Ian Fisher.
As a director, Schillaci has created two short films: "Corri", which was a finalist at the Rome International Film Festival Tulipani di seta nera, and "With Out Words", which he wrote and directed in Los Angeles.
In 2014, he took on the lead role in the short film "Ciao Marcello" as Marcello, as well as the main character Carlo in the feature film "The Italian". He was nominated for Best Actor at the New York Independent Film Festival.
In 2016, RAI called upon Schillaci to return to Italy, where he played Salvatore Niscemi in the television series "Il commissario Montalbano" and Loris Misilimeri in the television series "Maltese il romanzo del commissario".
In 2017-2018, Schillaci portrayed Sciaverio Pipitone in the television movie "La Mossa Del Cavallo". In 2019, he starred in "The Name of The Rose" and "Il mio corpo vi seppellirà", where he played the character Rosario and was directed by Giovanni La Parola.
Furthermore, in 2019, the film "Persian Lessons" is set to be released, in which Schillaci plays the role of Marco, an Italian Jew, directed by Vadim Perleman.
