Gary was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and spent his formative years in Lakeland, Florida. Over the course of three decades, he dedicated himself to a storied career at the Lakeland Police Department, culminating in his role as the official spokesperson for the department.
Gary's breakthrough in the film industry arrived in 2009, when he was recruited as a Police Technical Advisor for the Polk-based crime thriller "Endure", written and directed by Joe O'Brien. As a consultant on the film, starring Judd Nelson, Devon Sawa, and Tom Arnold, Gary leveraged his vast knowledge to ensure the film's authenticity, even landing a featured extra role in the process.
Simultaneously, Gary continued to serve as a full-time Police Sergeant and Public Information Officer, while also working part-time in the film/TV industry, predominantly as a police technical advisor. His impressive resume boasts collaborations with the Discovery Channel on several crime syndicate series and local production companies on various commercials.
Gary's subsequent roles in indie films, including "The Breaking Point" (2014),"Two Days" (2016),and "Turnaround" (2017),solidified his reputation as a reliable go-to for playing a cop, and he continues to expand his diverse body of work, challenging himself with each new role.
Gary has also made notable appearances as a featured extra in films, showcasing his acting prowess, such as in "Frank vs God", starring Henry Ian Cusick, known for his iconic role as Desmond Hume on the U.S. television series Lost, for which he received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. In 2016, Gary also appeared in Sean Baker's film, "The Florida Project", alongside Willem Dafoe.
