Frank Coraci was born on February 3, 1966, in Shirley, New York. He is an American film director and screenwriter who gained recognition for his collaborations with Adam Sandler.
Coraci received his education from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, graduating in 1988. During his career, he directed three successful films with Adam Sandler, including The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy, and Click, as well as several of Sandler's music videos. In addition, he made a memorable appearance as the title character in Sandler's music video for "The Lonesome Kicker".
Coraci also ventured into directing a film featuring Jackie Chan, Around the World in 80 Days, which unfortunately did not achieve the same level of commercial success as his Adam Sandler projects, grossing only $24 million at the US box office against a budget of $110 million.
The director's upcoming project is The Zookeeper, a romantic comedy starring Kevin James and Rosario Dawson, scheduled for release in 2011.
In his younger years, Coraci was an accomplished wrestler, serving on his high school's varsity wrestling team for all four years. His family owned a diverse range of businesses in the Shirley and Mastic Beach area, including a hardware store, liquor store, and real estate office.
