Flora Martínez's biography is a fascinating tale of cultural fusion and artistic expression. Born to a Canadian mother, Melinda Prowse, and a Colombian father, Hernando Martínez, Flora's bilingualism in Spanish, English, and French was a natural consequence of her upbringing. Her passion for acting led her to study at the Actors Conservatory in New York, as well as at the Alfonso Ortiz School and Actuemos in Colombia.
Flora's early start in the entertainment industry began at the tender age of 15, when she made her debut on Colombian TV. Her subsequent appearances solidified her status as a benchmark in Colombian entertainment. Her breakthrough in the international market came with her starring role in the film Rosario Tijeras. In 2008, she took on the role of a lifetime in the Caracol TV telenovela Vecinos, alongside Robinson Díaz.
Theater and music are Flora's two greatest passions, and she has also demonstrated a natural aptitude for dance, particularly salsa. In 2006, she traveled to Spain for the nomination of Rosario Tijeras to the Goya Awards, where she met the love of her life, José Reinoso, a Uruguayan jazz pianist and producer. The couple formalized their marriage in Barcelona in 2008.
Flora and José lived together in Spain with their three children, Malena and Borja, José's children from a previous marriage, whom Flora raised as her own, and their youngest daughter, Sofía. Since 2013, the family has split their residency between Uruguay and Colombia, allowing Flora to maintain her artistic pursuits while being close to her loved ones.
