Fernando Vargas, a retired Mexican American boxer, was born on December 7, 1977. Throughout his illustrious career, he earned the reputation as a formidable opponent, winning a bronze medal as an amateur at the 1995 Pan American Games in Mar del Plata, Argentina.
Nicknamed "Ferocious", "The Aztec Warrior", and "El Feroz", Vargas holds the distinction of being the youngest Jr.Middleweight Champion in the history of the sport. His impressive resume boasts victories over renowned boxers such as Raúl Márquez, Ike Quartey, and Winky Wright.
