Ernesto Gómez Cruz, a renowned Mexican actor, left an indelible mark on the industry with his extensive filmography, boasting an impressive total of over 154 films.
In his early days, Ernesto embarked on a journey as a photographer in his hometown of Veracruz, where he crossed paths with a friend who encouraged him to pursue his passion for dramatic art. However, in his own words, he initially yearned to be a singer, though his shyness and lack of preparation ultimately led him to abandon this path.
Throughout his illustrious career, Ernesto has collaborated with some of the most distinguished directors in the industry, including Miguel Littin, Felipe Cazals, Arturo Ripstein, and Luis Estrada. He has also shared the screen with an array of talented actors, including Damián Alcázar, Ignacio López Tarso, and Pedro Armendáriz Jr., to name a few.
Ernesto's remarkable artistic journey has earned him numerous accolades and recognitions, with one of the most notable being his 2014 Ariel de Oro award at the 56th Ariel award ceremony. This achievement solidified his position as the second Mexican actor with the most Ariel awards and nominations.
In 2018, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences extended a special invitation to Ernesto, inducting him as a new member of its prestigious ranks.
