Elmo Nüganen, a renowned Estonian theatre director, film director, and actor, was born on February 15, 1962, in Jõhvi, Estonia.
Following his graduation from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in 1988, Nüganen went on to become a professor at the academy, serving in this capacity from 1998 to 2002 and again from 2008 to 2012.
