Eleonora Abbagnato embarked on her esteemed dance journey in 1990, commencing her formal training at the prestigious Formation à l'Académie Princesse Grâce in the principality of Monaco. Subsequently, she continued her artistic development at the renowned Centre Rosella Hightower in the picturesque city of Cannes. In 1992, she entered the esteemed École de danse de l'Opéra, a revered institution that has nurtured the talents of many accomplished dancers. Following her rigorous training, Abbagnato joined the prestigious Paris Opera Ballet (POB) Corps de ballet in 1996. Her dedication and artistry led to her rapid ascension through the ranks, earning her the distinction of coryphée in 1999, sujet in 2000, and ultimately, in 2001, she became a première danseuse, a position reserved for the most exceptional dancers.
Throughout her illustrious career, Abbagnato has had the privilege of interpreting a diverse range of iconic roles, including Princess Florine in the enchanting ballet, Sleeping Beauty, Gamzatti in the majestic La Bayadère, Henriette and Clémence in the captivating Raymonda, choreographed by the legendary Rudolf Nureyev. Her repertoire also includes the captivating Marie in Clavigo, the dramatic Esmeralda in Notre-Dame de Paris, Titania in the whimsical Midsummer Nights Dream, the title role in Sylvia, choreographed by the acclaimed Christopher Neumeier, the regal Anastasia in Ivan le terrible, Myrtha in the timeless Giselle, and the spirited Kitri in Don Quixote, again choreographed by Nureyev.
