South African-born filmmaker Denver Jackson has been a visual effects artist and animator for a decade, currently residing in Canada. Renowned globally for his expertise in digital and visual effects, animation, and design, Denver has made significant contributions to numerous award-winning films. With the ability to seamlessly merge live-action and animated mediums, he has developed a distinctive style that sets him apart from others in the industry.
Denver is known for his self-sufficiency, often handling every aspect of his projects, from writing and directing to filming, editing, and animating. Between 2016 and 2017, he completed two short animated films, The Wishing Jar (2016),which has been showcased worldwide, including at three Academy-qualifying festivals, and earned accolades such as 'best-animated film' at San Diego Comic-Con IIFF and Heartland Film Festival.
Denver's most recent endeavors include producing a web series, Esluna: The First Monolith, and a feature film, Esluna: The Crown of Babylon, with the latter's animation production being a solo effort. His work is characterized by a strong emphasis on the fantastical, while maintaining a sense of realism through relatable characters and situations.
