Darren Doane, a renowned Christian filmmaker and music video director, was born in 1972 in Westlake Village, California. He ventured into the world of commercial, music video, and branded content production by co-founding LEVEL4, a production company, with Executive Producer Josh Karchmer in 2007. LEVEL4 has since collaborated with a diverse range of clients, including prominent brands such as Toyota, Hurley/Nike, Saatchi & Saatchi, Atlantic Records, JBL, and Universal Records, to produce and edit various projects.
Before transitioning to commercials and music videos, Darren explored his creative skills by directing two live-action short film adaptations of Malibu Comics' superheroes, Hardcase and Firearm. The four-minute music video style promo for Hardcase, starring British kickboxer Gary Daniels, showcased Darren's versatility as a director. Firearm, a 35-minute long movie, served as a prequel to the actual comic and was released as a VHS package alongside specially ordered copies of the comic's #0.
In a clever nod to his work, a single panel in the first issue of Hardcase comic features an in-joke referencing "D. Doane" as the director of "Hardcase: The Movie." Darren's dedication to his craft is evident through his extensive experience in the industry and his ability to successfully navigate various genres, from music videos to live-action short films.
