Daniel Healy Solwold Jr., professionally known as Austin Aries, is an American professional wrestler currently affiliated with the Control Your Narrative wrestling promotion. He has garnered widespread recognition for his impressive tenures with Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor.
Within Impact Wrestling, Aries has accumulated an impressive array of accolades, including three Impact World Championships and six Impact X Division Championships. In Ring of Honor, he is notable for being the inaugural multi-time ROH World Champion. Furthermore, Aries has made a mark in WWE, competing in the cruiserweight division and providing expert commentary.
Throughout his career, Aries has accumulated an astonishing 14 championships across TNA/Impact and ROH, in addition to numerous international and U.S. independent championships.
Aries' professional wrestling journey began in 2004 when he joined Ring of Honor's Generation Next faction. He won the ROH World Tag Team Championship alongside Roderick Strong and later defeated Samoa Joe to claim the ROH World Championship at Final Battle 2004, ending Joe's 645-day reign. Aries would reclaim the title in 2009, becoming the first multi-time champion.
Following his departure from ROH, Aries transitioned to Impact Wrestling, then known as Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). He went on to win the X Division Championship six times, with his first reign lasting an impressive 301 days. This reign also saw the introduction of the "Option C" clause, allowing Aries to trade the title for a TNA World Heavyweight title opportunity at Destination X, which he ultimately won.
Aries has also claimed the TNA World Tag Team Championship and the Impact Grand Championship, solidifying his status as a Grand Slam Champion in Impact Wrestling.
After a brief hiatus from the wrestling industry between 2019 and 2021, Aries has since returned to the scene, making appearances for the National Wrestling Alliance and other independent wrestling companies.
