Daniel Porter, professionally known as Daniel Portman, is a Scottish actor born on February 13, 1992. He is widely recognized for his captivating portrayal of Podrick Payne in the television series Game of Thrones, which aired from 2012 to 2019.
Portman's family background is marked by a strong presence in the entertainment industry, with his father, Ron Donachie, being an actor and his mother, Fiona Biggar, being involved in the arts as well. He has a younger sister named Naomi. Born in Glasgow, Portman spent his childhood in Strathbungo, a neighborhood on the city's Southside. He attended Shawlands Academy, where he developed a passion for rugby and was even named Head Boy.
After completing his secondary education, Portman pursued a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Acting at Reid Kerr College in Paisley. His acting career began at the tender age of 16, with his first role being in the 2010 film Outcast, in which he starred as Paul. He subsequently appeared in the popular Scottish soap opera River City and in the Scottish comedy The Angels' Share.
