Conrad Brooks, a talented individual, was born Conrad Biedrzycki on January 3, 1931, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Polish immigrant parents, with a father who was a skilled baker. He was one of eight siblings, consisting of seven brothers and sisters. At the tender age of seventeen, along with his brothers Henry and Ted, he made the bold decision to venture to Hollywood, California, seeking new opportunities.
It was during this period that Conrad first crossed paths with the legendary filmmaker Ed Wood, in a humble donut shop. This chance encounter marked the beginning of a fruitful collaboration between the two, which would span several years. Conrad's first project with Wood was a fifteen-minute short film titled "Range Revenge."
Conrad's subsequent collaboration with Wood yielded three notable roles in the film "Glen or Glenda." However, it was his iconic portrayal of Patrolman Jamie in the cult classic "Plan 9 from Outer Space" that cemented his enduring popularity among fans. In addition to his work with Wood, Conrad briefly appeared in another notable film, "The Beast of Yucca Flats," which is often regarded as a cheapie clunker.
