Colin's passion for filmmaking evolved from his enthusiasm for movies, his fascination with technical innovation, and his acting hobby. During his student years, he created several award-winning CGI animations and VFX-driven short films that showcased his exceptional skill. Upon graduating from Wesleyan University in 2007, he joined Connecticut-based independent production company Synthetic Cinema International, where he has been working ever since.
In 2011, Colin made his mark by directing Steve Niles' Remains, the inaugural original feature for NBCUniversal's Chiller Network. He went on to direct two more features for the network: Dead Souls and Deep in the Darkness, both based on novels by Michael Laimo. His upcoming project, Wishin' and Hopin', is a Christmas story about a 10-year-old boy in 1964, adapted from the New York Times bestselling novel by Wally Lamb.
In addition to his directing duties, Colin also produces for SCI and oversees post-production and VFX, ensuring that films are delivered on time and within budget.
Colin believes that a successful director should have a deep understanding of every role on set and the techniques employed by each team member, setting the tone for the cast and crew with his infectious energy. Typically, you'll find him standing beside the camera, closely observing the performance.
