Cliff Potts was born on January 5, 1942, in the United States, and has had a long and distinguished career as a television and film actor.
Throughout his career, Potts has appeared in over sixty episodic television series, with a significant number of supporting roles and guest appearances. One of his earliest notable roles was as a regular supporting player during the first season of the 1968 series "The Name of the Game", which was a 90-minute revolving series about a publishing empire that featured Tony Franciosa, Gene Barry, and Robert Stack.
In addition to his work on "The Name of the Game", Potts also appeared in a starring role in the short-lived 1977 TV series "Big Hawaii", in which he played the rebellious son of a rich landowner. He also portrayed the character John Brooke in the 1994 film adaptation of "Little Women".
Perhaps Potts' most widely-known film role is that of John Wolf in the cult science fiction film "Silent Running". This film, released in 1972, has developed a cult following over the years and is still widely regarded as a classic of the science fiction genre.
