Claire McCarthy, a multifaceted creative force, has been captivating audiences worldwide with her remarkable body of work as a writer, director, producer, and visual artist for over a decade.
A graduate of the prestigious Australian Film, Television and Radio School in 2001, Claire has since honed her craft, crafting a diverse range of documentaries and short films across continents, including Australia, India, Germany, and Mexico.
Her impressive portfolio boasts a slew of critically acclaimed projects, including the Australian Film Commission fully funded short films Skin (2006),The Find (2006),City Edge (2005),Starbaby (2002),Panopticon (2001),Square Space (2000),and Tinsel (1999).
Claire's feature film debut, Cross Life, premiered at the Sydney International Film Festival in 2007, with a release date expected later that year. Additionally, her documentary film Sisters in Calcutta, shot on location in India, will air on ABC television in late 2007.
Currently, Claire is working on her next feature film, The Waiting City, which is being developed through the Australian Film Commission's IndiVision program.
