Christien Alexis Anholt is an English actor, born on February 25, 1971, in London. He is the son of actor Tony Anholt and began his acting career at the age of 17 in 1988. Anholt's breakthrough role was in the 1989 film Reunion, for which he received a Best Actor nomination at the Cannes Film Festival and the Best Actor award at the E'Febo Doro award in Sicily in 1990.
Anholt's early work also included the play Another Time, written by Ronald Harwood, and the film Hamlet, directed by Franco Zeffirelli, alongside Mel Gibson. He then starred in Hallmark's production One Against the Wind, opposite Kate Beckinsale, Sam Neill, and Judy Davis, and in The Power of One, alongside Stephen Dorff.
Anholt's television work includes the TV series pilot Class Of '61, the BBC production Money For Nothing, and the series Relic Hunter, where he played the lead role of Nigel Bailey opposite Tia Carrere. He has also appeared in several films, including Seventeen, Hard Times, The Harpist, Preaching to the Perverted, The Ruby Ring, and George Miltons' Appetite.
In addition to his film and television work, Anholt has appeared in several stage productions, including Terence Rattigan's In Praise Of Love and Harold Pinter's The Hothouse. He has also guest-starred in the TV series Adventure Inc and had a cameo in The Conclave.
More recently, Anholt has starred in the World War One drama Flyboys, opposite James Franco and Jean Reno, and in the thriller Dark Corners, alongside Thora Birch. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California, with his wife, Carly.
