Challen Michelle Cates, a multifaceted American creative, was born on January 26, 1966. Her impressive career spans both in front of and behind the camera. As an actress, she is perhaps most recognized for her role as Mrs. Knight on the popular television series, Big Time Rush.
In addition to her work on screen, Cates has also excelled as an independent film producer. As of 2007, she has been involved in the production of two notable films, A Fare To Remember (1998) and The A-List (2001). Notably, she not only produced these films but also took on leading roles in both.
In 2003, Cates further showcased her acting abilities by starring in the independent movie They Would Love You In France, in the lead female role.
Throughout the early 2000s, Cates made appearances in various television series, including Cybill, Roseanne, Diagnosis: Murder, Monk, CSI: NY, Criminal Minds, and Desperate Housewives, among others. In 2007, she was featured in the TV movie The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning.
Cates has also had a significant presence in the Nickelodeon original series Big Time Rush, where she played a supporting role and was often referred to as Mrs. Knight or "Momma Knight". In the spin-off series Big Time Moms, her character's first name was revealed to be Jennifer, or Jen.
Cates has appeared in four Big Time Rush movies: Big Time Audition, Big Time Concert, Big Time Christmas, and Big Time Beach Party.
