Born and raised in the picturesque Okanagan Valley, a region of breathtaking natural beauty, Bruce, a individual of Irish and English descent, made the bold decision to leave his hometown of Kelowna shortly after completing his high school education. His journey took him across the mountains to the vibrant city of Vancouver, where he enrolled at Simon Fraser University. During his time at SFU, Bruce pursued a diverse range of academic interests, including film noir, world literature, Greek mythology, art history, stage design and direction, and pop culture. His academic endeavors culminated in the receipt of a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honors.
After graduating from SFU, Bruce found himself torn between two passions: writing and acting. Rather than making a definitive choice, he opted to remain active in both fields, with a body of work that includes feature film scripts and pilots for television. A self-proclaimed cinephile, Bruce's love affair with movies began at a young age, with his first job being that of an usher at the iconic Paramount Theatre in Kelowna. His parents, who were early adopters of cable television, further fueled his passion for the medium.
Throughout his career, Bruce has been comfortable working in front of and behind the camera, as well as simply enjoying the fruits of his labor as a film enthusiast.
