Brian's journey to becoming an actor began before his 10th birthday, but it took him another 20 years to take the leap and enroll in formal acting training in Hollywood.
Born in Framingham, Massachusetts, Brian moved with his family to Illinois and Ohio before settling in a small town in Western Michigan. After high school, he was unable to afford theater training due to financial constraints and the Iranian hostage crisis. He joined the US Army, hoping to later attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City.
The Army had other plans for Brian, and he underwent infantry training before being accepted into flight school at Fort Rucker, Alabama. He excelled in the intense academic environment and discovered a natural talent for flying helicopters. After graduating from flight school, Brian was trained as a Cobra pilot and sent to a discreet Army base in rural Germany.
While stationed in Germany, Brian studied full-time at the satellite campus of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University near Nurnberg and enjoyed skiing in the Austrian Alps and Italian Dolomites. He was one of the only Americans living in the small town of Oberntief at the time and treasures those years. Brian's exciting and rewarding military career lasted for over a decade, but he knew it was time to pursue his passion for acting.
After seeing the movie Top Gun in Garmisch, Brian requested his final assignment be near Hollywood, and he was eventually based at Fort Ord, California. He immersed himself in Monterey's busy theater community, eventually landing the role of Vince in the play Buried Child by falling down "drunk" on stage during his audition.
In late 1989, Brian resigned from the Army, sold his Saab, and moved to Hollywood to focus on acting. He has since appeared in films like Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day, marking the 20th anniversary of his arrival in Los Angeles on October 30, 2009.
