Bille Brown, a renowned Australian Shakespearean actor and esteemed playwright, was born on January 11, 1952, and departed this world on January 13, 2013.
Following his graduation from the University of Queensland with a degree in drama, Brown embarked on a remarkable journey with the Queensland Theatre Company. Later, he joined the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) in Strathford and London, where he was one of the few commissioned writers.
Throughout his illustrious career, Brown has been honored twice in the Australian Honours System. On January 1, 2001, he was conferred the Centenary Medal "for distinguished service to the arts". Additionally, on January 26, 2011, Brown was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia "for service to the performing arts as an actor and playwright, and to education".
