Biography

Guillermo "Bill" Gaede, born on November 19, 1952, is a notable Argentine engineer and programmer with a complex and intriguing history. During his tenure at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Intel Corporation (Intel),Gaede engaged in clandestine activities, conducting industrial spying for the Cuban government and providing them with technical information from the semiconductor industry.

The Cubans, in turn, passed this information to the Soviet bloc, primarily to the Soviet Union and East Germany. Gaede's actions were a significant breach of trust, as he was working with top-tier technology companies while secretly working against their interests.

In 1992, Gaede turned himself in to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and subsequently worked with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in a counter-espionage operation aimed at penetrating Cuban intelligence. During this time, he obtained employment at Intel Corp. in Chandler, Arizona.

However, Intel Security discovered Gaede's true nature and terminated him before he could cause further damage. Gaede then fled to South America, where he allegedly sold the stolen technology to Chinese and Iranian representatives.

Upon his return to the United States, Gaede was arrested, prosecuted, and convicted. He was sentenced to 33 months in prison in June 1996, after which he was deported. The 9th Circuit Court rejected Gaede's appeal, and the Supreme Court denied certiorari.

Post-conviction, Gaede focused on writing and critiqued mathematical physics and the scientific method in fields such as physics, biology, anthropology, and palaeontology. His theories have largely been disseminated online.
