Avaah Blackwell is a multifaceted individual who has made a significant impact in the film industry. With a powerful on-screen presence, she consistently breaks new ground for women in film, taking on strong female leads and unconventional gender roles.
As a trained martial artist and daughter of two Canadian Military personnel, Avaah infuses her approach with a unique physical and mental discipline. Her experience as a runway model, events director, makeup artist, and casting director/associate has given her a rare and valuable skillset.
Internationally trained at the Prague Film School, Avaah has enchanted audiences across Europe, Asia, and North America with her performances. Her comedic timing has earned her recognition from the CBC, and her love for improv and standup comedy allows her amiable personality to shine both on and off camera.
Currently, Avaah is in pre-production for the female MMA feature film "Excelsis" and is studying under renowned instructors to sharpen her skills in combat and sword fighting. Her experience as a Rotary Youth Ambassador and her upbringing in a military family have instilled in her a strong sense of service above self.
Avaah has a strong affinity for humanitarian efforts, particularly those involving youth, seniors, veterans, gender equality, animals, and the environment. She has contributed to various causes, including co-hosting and organizing Rotaract Toronto's Annual Fundraiser, which raised over $7500 for Sketch Toronto.
