Anita Strindberg, born Anita Edberg, was a renowned Swedish actress who rose to fame in the 1970s as one of the most recognizable stars of Italian giallo films.
Her career in the genre began with Lucio Fulci's Una lucertola con la pelle di donna, released in 1971, and she subsequently landed her first lead role the same year in Sergio Martino's La coda dello scorpione.
In 1972, Strindberg appeared in two more gialli: Aldo Lado's Chi l'ha vista morire?, alongside George Lazenby, and Martino's Il tuo vizio è una stanza chiusa e solo io ne ho la chiave, co-starring Luigi Pistilli and Edwige Fenech.
After the early 1970s, Strindberg expanded her repertoire to include various genre films, such as the women in prison film Diario segreto da un carcere femminile, the horror film L'anticristo, and the poliziotteschi film Milano odia: la polizia non può sparare, directed by Umberto Lenzi.
Strindberg's last film was Riccardo Freda's Murder Obsession, also known as "Fear", in which she co-starred with Laura Gemser.
