Siddig El Tahir El Fadil El Siddig Abderrahman Mohammed Ahmed Abdel Karim El Mahdi, a Sudanese-born English actor, was born on November 21, 1965, and is also known by his stage name Alexander Siddig.
This accomplished actor gained widespread recognition for his iconic portrayal of Dr. Julian Bashir in the television series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and has also left a lasting impression with his performances in notable films such as Syriana (2005),where he played the role of Prince Nasir Al-Subaai, and Kingdom of Heaven (2005),in which he played the character Imad ad-Din al-Isfahani.
Furthermore, Siddig has made memorable guest appearances on the popular television series 24, where he portrayed the character Hamri Al-Assad. In addition to his film and television work, Siddig co-starred in the award-winning film Cairo Time (2009),taking on the role of Tareq Khalifa.
