Alek Keshishian was born on July 30, 1964, in Beirut, Lebanon, to Armenian parents Dr. Kevork and Cecil Keshishian. He grew up in Manchester, New Hampshire, alongside his sister Aleen, a renowned talent manager who has represented notable actors such as Orlando Bloom and Natalie Portman.
Keshishian's academic prowess was evident from an early age, as he excelled in math and sciences, earning the admiration of his father, who wished for his son to follow in his footsteps in the medical profession. However, Alek's true passion lay elsewhere. He was an exceptionally talented individual with a strong affinity for music, theatre, and dance.
As a young boy, Keshishian and his sister embarked on a journey of self-expression, touring with various theatre companies, including the NH Children's Theatre, American Children's Theatre, and the "I Like the U.S. of A." National Touring Company. His exceptional dance skills soon earned him the lead role in the program at St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire.
Before graduating from Harvard University, Keshishian co-produced the prestigious Hasty Puddings, a 137-year-old Harvard tradition that has showcased numerous notable individuals, including Jack Lemmon and Fred Gwynne.
