Abigail Louise Morgan, a talented Welsh playwright and screenwriter, hails from a family of thespians, with her mother, Pat England, being an actress and her father, Gareth Morgan, a theatre director. Initially, Morgan aspired to tread the boards herself, enrolling at Exeter University to study drama and literature. However, it was during her time at university that she discovered her true calling as a writer, and her passion for the craft only grew stronger with each passing day.
For five long years, Morgan dared not share her writing with anyone, preferring to hone her skills in solitude. It wasn't until 1998 that she finally mustered the courage to showcase her work, with the production of "Skinned" at the Nuffield Theatre in Southampton marking her debut as a professional playwright.
Morgan's breakthrough came in 2001 with the premiere of "Tender" at the Hampstead Theatre, a production that earned her a nomination as "most promising playwright" at the prestigious 2002 Laurence Olivier Theatre Awards. This recognition not only solidified her position as a rising star in the world of playwriting but also paved the way for a successful and illustrious career in the years to come.
