In the tumultuous drama, a newlywed couple's trip to visit the husband's sisters in New Orleans is disrupted by the wife's growing jealousy and the sister's possessive nature, putting the entire family on the brink of destruction.

Newlyweds Julian and Lily Berniers return to their hometown of New Orleans, where they will meet with Julian's older spinster sisters Anna and Carrie. Julian's mysterious meetings in New Orleans have left Lily in the dark, and she begins to suspect that his wealthy mother, Albertine Prine, may have paid him to marry her. When Julian's past love, Charlotte Warkins, enters the picture, Lily becomes convinced that they are having an affair. However, Carrie knows the truth and becomes obsessed with having Julian all to herself.
