A mysterious English nobleman, known as the Scarlet Pimpernel, rescues French aristocrats from the guillotine by posing as the foppish Sir Percy Blakeney in society. As he falls for actress Marguerite St. Just, he must balance his marriage with his secret mission to save the Dauphin.
