David Gant, a Scottish actor and model, was born in 1943. Prior to his acting career, he worked as a banker before making a drastic career change at the age of 30.
Gant pursued his passion for dramatic arts by enrolling in the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, Scotland. He graduated in 1974 and has since appeared in numerous roles across theatre, film, and television.
Notable credits include his performances in Coriolanus at Chichester Festival Theatre, as well as his roles in several films such as Victor/Victoria (1982),The Draughtsman's Contract (1982),The Scarlet Pimpernel (1982),Gandhi (1982),Brazil (1985),Chaplin (1992),Restoration (1995),Braveheart (1995),The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999),Lagaan (2001),and Jonathan Creek: The Sinner and the Sandman (2014).
In addition to his on-screen work, Gant has also lent his voice to several projects, including the video game Dark Souls (2011) and its sequel, Dark Souls II, as well as the special edition rerelease Scholar of the First Sin. He is also an Associate and Licentiate of the London College of Music.
Furthermore, Gant has had the opportunity to voice the character of Emperor Iedolas Aldercapt in Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV and played the role of the sheriff in the Theatre Royal Norwich production of Jack and the Beanstalk during the 2016 Christmas period.
