Isabelle "Isa" Tostin, a wandering drifter, heads to Lille to reunite with her ex-boyfriend, only to find he's left for Belgium. With no funds, Isa secures a job at a clothing factory, where she befriends Marie Thomas, a coworker. Despite their contrasting personalities, they form a bond. Marie is tasked with caring for an apartment, whose owners are recovering from a car accident, and Isa becomes her temporary roommate. However, their harmony is disrupted by a devastating event.
