Revolt in the Big House background

Revolt in the Big House

A ruthless racketeer kingpin, imprisoned for his crimes, attempts to orchestrate a prison riot and escape with the help of a young cell mate, but the latter has second thoughts when he realizes innocent lives may be lost in the chaos.

Notorious New York City criminal Lou Gannon, after evading convictions for a decade, is finally sentenced to 20 years in maximum-security prison for armed robbery and murder. Gannon plans his escape, meeting old acquaintances Doc and Ed "Bugsy" Kyle, a violent psychopath who controls the inmates. Gannon's cellmate, Rudy Hernandez, a former gang member seeking a model inmate reputation, is recruited as the getaway driver. Gannon arranges weapon smuggling, killing the original smuggler and replacing him with Rudy. As tensions rise, Gannon plans a secret escape during a prison riot, leaving his team behind.
