A woman, once part of a successful 16-year marriage, is left by her husband who cheated on her with a girl he met at Bloomingdale's. The movie follows her journey as she reevaluates herself, breaks free from defining herself by her husband's personality, and starts dating again. However, she refuses to compromise her independence for a new suitor, an abstract expressionist painter, who expects her to do so.
