Ned Flemkin, a daydreaming youngster, blows his piggybank savings on an exciting pet, but his journey to the store is filled with costly detours, leaving him with just enough for a newt. However, this newt remains unresponsive until Ned finds a surprising solution by feeding it Zippo.
